Food Parcel for Khadija Ismayilova not Accepted in Kurdakhani
On Monday the jail in Kurdakhani did not accept the transfer of food for the journalist Khadija Ismayilova brought by her family. Turan was told by the journalist Afghan Mukhtarly.
In the jail they said that they only accept food once a week. The Prison Service has not commented on this information.
Meanwhile, the reaction of international organizations to Ismayilova’s arrest is continued.
So, based in New York, the International Committee to Protect Journalists called on the Azerbaijani authorities to stop the policy of prosecuting journalists on trumped-up charges to silence critical voices, and to release journalists Khadija Ismailova.
"Political reasons for this arrest are obvious – the journalist is persecuted for her publications," said CPJ Representative for Europe and Central Asia, Muzaffar Suleymanov.
The international human rights organization Freedom House has also called for the withdrawal of charges against Ismayilova and her liberation. -16D-
