Former police official Baku is arrested in Emirates
Former Deputy Chief of Police Department of Baku, Cavadaga Sultanov was arrested in the emirate of Sharjh, according to the business circles in Dubai.
According to the source, Sultanov failed to meet his business obligations amounting $7 million to the partners. Currently, police are looking for other individuals associated with Sultanov.
Azerbaijan's Consulate in Dubai did not deny the arrest of Sultanov.
Employees of the consulate did not disclose details of the case, but said that all materials had been submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. In turn, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the arrest of Cavadaga Sultanov in Dubai.
As it became known, that Sultanov was arrested by the police of Sharjah emirate on November 6 , and currently investigation is ongoing.
The press service of the Foreign Ministry said that the investigation of the situation involving the arrest of Azerbaijani is ongoing. Azerbaijani consulate in Dubai is monitoring the situation.
Police Colonel Cavadaga Sultanov was fired from the internal affairs on 23 March 2005 in connection with the case of Haji Mammadov; he was witness in the present case. His testimony in court were accompanied by scandal. -03B04-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
