Gross Violations of Property Rights Continues
Baku’s Executive Power continue to violate property rights of residents in the area of Winter Park that is under construction in the city center. In particular, residents along Dilara Aliyeva street have complained that they have had 5 days without gas. Two houses and 191 residents affected can not force Azerigaz workers to restore the supply of natural gas.
In an interview with Turan, tenants of houses said the two buildings are home to over 40 families. No negotiations have been taken place concerning demolition, relocation or compensation.
A representative of the Mayoralty Zulfali Ismailov manages all works along Fizuli and Mirzaga Aliyev streets. City Hall workers are spreading rumors about a potential accident in these houses. Given past experience, it can be argued city officials are preparing to demolish these two buildings, without signing contracts with the tenants.
Residents also want to sign a treaty with an explanation on to why they should leave their homes. -05C04-
