Gunduz believes E-security Center should be developed with participation from independent experts
The decision to establish a State Security Agency of Special Communication and Information is a positive step in ensuring the security of the country, according to the Head of Information Technology, Osman Gunduz, an expert in the field of ICT. Gunduz spoke at a press conference in "Novosti-Azerbaijan", commenting on the presidential decree of September 26 regarding measures to improve information security. The new structure was created under the Special State Protection Service (SSPS). Gunduz called creation of the new agency a logical continuation of the previous decisions in the field of information security.
The new structure will conduct a monitoring audit to provide methodological and technical assistance to implement a security program. As for the security of non-state entities, the E-security Center is to coordinate work in this area, which will be created in the Ministry of Communications.
Gunduz called for measures to prevent cyber-attacks from abroad and notification of local structures about such attacks. He also noted the need to attract activists of civil society and the scientific community to the creation of Regulations on the E-security Center.
According to Gunduz, the latest steps of the government will help to strengthen the protection of sites of government agencies, the media, and other institutions in Azerbaijan. —05B06-
