Hackers deleted Meydan TV page on Facebook
Baku / 29.01.19 / Turan: The Facebook page of the online edition of Meydan TV was subjected to a hacker attack on the morning and erased. Hackers took over the authority of the page administrator and removed it, according to a report published on the Meydan TV website, which is available in Azerbaijan through proxy servers. Meydan TV contacted the management of Facebook and tries to restore its page in Azerbaijani, Russian and English.
Based in Germany, Meydan TV is known for critical publications about the government of Azerbaijan.
In the spring of 2017, along with some other on-line publications, was blocked by the Center for Electronic Security of the Ministry of Communications and this decision was subsequently blocked by the court.
Recently the Facebook pages of the chairman of the National Council of Democratic Forces Jamil Hasanli and the head of the Popular Front Party leader Ali Kerimli were temporarily seized. Their posts were removed, and the number of "likes" were cut many times.-06D--

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
