Health of Convict Seymour Hazy Worsened
In spite of the serious health problems of the convicted journalist Seymour Hazy, he is not transferred to the prison hospital. This was stated by his wife Nigar Hazy. According to her, the journalist suffers from deteriorated rheumatic pains. However, the administration of Jail No 17 does not transfer him to the examination in a medical institution of the Justice Ministry. The wife blamed the authorities for the possible consequences.
In its turn, the Prison Service recommended asking for comments in the medical department of the Ministry of Justice. But representatives of this department were unavailable for comment.
Hazy was arrested in August 2014 on charges of hooliganism and sentenced to 5 years in prison. However, the true reason for his arrest was a sharp criticism of government policies. Amnesty International recognized Hazy a prisoner of conscience. -06D--
