Henrik Mkhitaryan Decides Not to Come to Baku
Henrik Mkhitaryan may miss the Europa League match with Azerbaijan’s Gabala for security reasons.
One of the players for the Dortmund soccer club Borussia, Henrik Mkhitaryan may not go to Azerbaijan for the Europa League group stage match with Gabala. This was reported by Bild on October 19 with reference to the executive director of Borussia, Hans-Joachim Watzke.
According to him, Mkhitaryan, apparently, will not fly with the team because of the ongoing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Vatzke noted that in such a situation the club is responsible for the safety of its midfield. "If the player does not feel comfortable or feels fear, then of course we have to take that into account," he said.
The match between Borussia and Gabala will be held in Baku on October 22.
Earlier, the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan stated that the security of Mkhitaryan will be provided. -02D-
