Hurricane Winds Cause Damage to Farms of Zagatala and Balakan Regions
As a result of strong wind and heavy rain last night the north-western regions of Azerbaijan suffered damage. The most affected villages are those of the Zagatala and Balakan regions, according to local sources.
In particular, the hurricane tore roofs of residential and administrative buildings, felled trees and poles of power lines, breaking off electricity and communications. In Balakan the roof of a local hospital is damaged.
Local authorities are taking relief measures and calculate the amount of damage.
Meanwhile, forecasters have reported continuing precipitation in parts of the country on July 24. Rain will be intense and the northwest wind will intensify.
The air temperature during the day will be at night + 20 + 25 and in the daytime + 28 + 33 Celsius. In mountainous areas at night it will be + 12 + 16 and in the daytime + 17 + 22 Celsius.
In the capital and Absheron peninsula it will be mainly rainless, with a moderate northwest wind.
The temperature will be + 22 + 24 at night and + 26 + 30 Celsius by day. -06B-
