Ilham Aliyev pardoned nine prisoners of conscience
On June 22, the President of Azerbaijan signed a decree to pardon 64 prisoners.
Among them there are a few political prisoners: Arif Hajili, Tural Abbasli, Zulfugar Eyvazli, Rufat Hajibeyli, Babak Hasanov, Sahib Kerimov, Ulvi Guliyev, Majid Mammadli, and Ahad Mammadli. All of them are exempt from the remainder of the sentence.
Recall that all of them were convicted for taking part in opposition rallies on April 2 this year and were sentenced to 2-3 years in prison and were recognized as prisoners of conscience and political prisoners by international organizations. -02B-
