Ilham Aliyev presented media representatives with apartments
The ceremony of putting into operation of the bloc of houses for journalists, which were built by President Ilham Aliyev’s decree in Bibi-Eybat district, was devoted to the National Press Day.
The building has 158 apartments. Before the ceremony, the owners of the new apartments visited Heydar Aliyev’s grave and Ilham Aliyev himself arrived at the opening ceremony.
He said journalists of various media and people with different political views have received apartments in the new building.
“This shows lack of discrimination in any area in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani government will continue taking care of the press. It is not ruled out that the journalist town will be created around the building in the future,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
The list of journalists that received apartments has not been published.
According to unofficial sources, editor-in-chiefs and representatives of opposition newspapers Azadlig and Yeni Musavat were among those recipients.--0---
