Baku/06.05.22/Turan: "Ilkin is not guilty, " this is what the relatives of Ilkin Suleymanov, accused of the murder of a minor Narmin Guliyeva, repeat continuously.

Despite the fact that more than two years have passed since the tragedy, the controversy surrounding this high-profile crime does not subside.

10-year-old Narmin Guliyeva disappeared on November 19, 2019. According to investigators, her charred corpse was found in the village of Dondar Gushchu on January 6, 2020, just a few days after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took control of the case and instructed to find the missing girl as soon as possible.

The house where the accused Ilkin Suleymanov lived before his arrest is located near the entrance to the village of Dondar Gushchu, Tovuz region. Murdered Narmin Guliyeva also lived in this village with her parents and sisters.

Directly opposite Suleymanov's house, about 15 meters away, there is a valley, on the edge of which they found the charred body, presumably Narmin Guliyeva.

Relatives of Ilkin Suleymanov, showing journalists the place where the body was found, claim that the body was thrown there. “The body was firmly pressed with its back to the ground and charred from the back. But how could this happen if the back of the corpse was tightly pressed to the ground, and without access to oxygen, combustion is impossible. Then how could the body be so burned from the back?

Ilkin's relatives also showed journalists the room in which, according to the investigation, he kept the girl for 47 days. “The walls here are very thin, could it be that in all these days we would never have heard a scream, the noise of a struggle? It's impossible,” says I.Suleimanov's brother and proposes to conduct an experiment. Behind the wall, a person quietly makes sounds and everything in the room is clearly audible.

According to Ilkin's brother, the investigation did not find anything in the room that would indicate that the murdered woman had been in that room. “Not a single hair, not a single sign that the girl was kept here for 47 days. They found one hair, but the examination established that this hair does not belong to the deceased. They removed the floor boards, looked for used "diapers", but they did not find this either. But if the child was here, he had to relieve himself. No evidence was found. Despite this, Ilkin was accused.”

In addition, relatives of the accused say that at the entrance to the courtyard of Ilkin's house, the investigation found blood stains, one of which belongs to someone with the 2nd blood group. “They immediately wrote that it was Narmin’s blood, but according to all the documents, Narmin's blood group is 4. Moreover, the examination determined that the corpse found on January 6 also has the 2nd blood group. How can it be Narmin Guliyeva?”

By the way, at the trial in this criminal case, the owner and part-time seller of the above-mentioned store said that the police tried to get evidence from him that Ilkin Suleymanov bought “diapers”. “But I can’t say that, since he never bought diapers. Yes, we don't sell them.

At the trial, Ilkin Suleymanov stated that after his arrest, he was subjected to moral and physical pressure for three days in the Tovuz district police department. As a result, he testified against himself.

“On January 9, I was taken to the office of the deputy head of the department, Shahlar Jafarov. I was in handcuffs. They laid me on the floor. An operative in a cap beat me with the leg of a chair, and then Shakhlar himself hit me with a truncheon on my heels. Another policeman at the same time hit me on the head. Then they put either a bucket or a pot on my head and started hitting it...”

According to Suleymanov, an electric current was passed through his "sensitive areas". After these tortures, he agreed to sign whatever they said. Even at the investigation stage, officials denied Suleymanov's allegations of torture.

48-year-old Ilkin Suleimanov is charged under  the Articles 120.2.4 (premeditated murder with special cruelty), 120.2.9 (deliberate murder of a person who is known to be in a helpless state), 144.3 (kidnapping). However, he declares his non-involvement in the kidnapping and murder of the minor Narmin Guliyeva.

Under the Articles  Suleymanov is charged with, he will face up to 20 years of arrest or life imprisonment.—0—
