In 2022, 271 minors got married in Azerbaijan
Baku/21.12.23/Turan: On December 19, the chairman of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children, Bahar Muradova, presented the annual report for 2022 to the parliament. According to her, last year 271 minors got married for "good" reasons. The largest number of such marriages are in the Gazakh-Tovuz (68) and Lankaran-Astara (57) regions.
A total of 158 protective orders were issued during the year, 146 of them short-term and 12 long-term. 151 of them were issued to women and 7 to men. The Women's Helpline received 2,050 calls on various issues. They were associated with family conflicts (676), domestic violence (361), divorce support (182), etc. The document indicates that there are 26,463 alimony payers in 12 districts of Baku, and 58,157 in the regions. The document proposes to remove exceptions that create a legal basis for early marriage for a good reason. -0-
