Twelve participants of Saturday’s action in "Bina" shopping center have been arrested today by the Sabail district court. They are convicted under Articles 221.3 (hooliganism) and 315.2 (resistance to power through violence) and have been arrested for the period of investigation - two months.
The lawyer of one of the arrested, Nemat Kerimli, told Turan, that the decision of the court in respect of another detainee will be considered before the end of Monday. He believes that the rights of detainees are brutally violated, but the defense is going to protect them.
The lawyer Kamran Valiyev said that his client was beaten by the police during his arrest.
Zarifa Huseynova, mother of the arrested Samid Huseynov, said that her son was arrested in a store and he is not guilty.
The exact number of detainees is unknown. According to unofficial data, there are about 100. Some of them were released on Saturday and Sunday. According to some reports, they had money extorted before their release.
