In Sumgait University appointed a new rector
Azerbaijani President Elkhan Huseynov was appointed Rector of Sumgait State University (SSU).
Huseinov worked for many years at Baku State University and in the Soviet time served as Deputy Chairman of the Communist Party committee of BSU. In the 1990s he was Vice-Rector for International Affairs and the First Vice-Rector.
In 2002-2010 years he was the Azerbaijani ambassador to Turkmenistan.
From August to December 2013 he served as adviser to the Minister of Education.
In December 2013 he was appointed Vice-Rector and Acting Rector of SSU.
This week, the head of state also changed the Rector of Azerbaijan State Economic University. -06D-
