A group of ten young people who call themselves anarchists attacked the editor of the Etatist.com website Shahriyar Mejidzadeh and some of his editorial staff. The incident occurred on June 22 near the Friendship Cinema in Baku.
As a result, a member of the editorial board Agshin Veliyev was stabbed in the arm. Turan was told by an employee of Etatist.com, Kamran Hasanli.
According to him, the incident is investigated by the 21st Nasimi district police station.
"We are right centrists and we advocate statehood. They are leftist anarchists. They came to our events, trying to break them. One of the attackers was a man known as Ali, who is a member of an Azerbaijani anarchist group in Turkey. Some of them protect the PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) and oppose statehood ," said Hasanli.
From all this it is difficult to conclude what happened - a fight among the young people or a collision for ideas.
Our attempt to get comments from the police also failed. -03B-
