Intigam Aliyev Has Serious Health Problems
Results of the medical examination of the arrested human rights activist Intigam Aliyev.
As written by his daughter Narmin Kamilsoy on her Facebook page, he suffers from cervical osteochondrosis and hernia of the intervertebral disc.
Nevertheless, he is only prescribed outpatient treatment in the conditions of detention in jail.
According to his daughter that visited him in jail on October 31, though the human rights activist tried to look cheerful, "it was clearly evident that he finds it difficult to stand on his feet."
Aliyev is experiencing severe headaches that are caused by disturbances in the nervous system and psychological tension. He sleeps only 2-3 hours a day and takes a lot of sedatives."
Because of the cold cell (heating in jail will be switched on only on November 15), the human rights activist often takes cold.
Still censored are records made by Aliyev, before he goes to see the lawyers. Often the records are not returned.
Nevertheless, the human rights activist maintains good spirits and sends greetings and appreciation to friends, acquaintances and all those who expressed their support. "He asked me not to worry about his health," writes Kamilsoy.
Intigam Aliyev was arrested Aug. 8 on charges of tax evasion, abuse of office and illegal business. He denies all the charges and says they are politically motivated. Amnesty International recognized Intigam Aliyev "prisoner of conscience». - 06D--
