Journalist Calls on Minister of Internal Affairs and Prosecutor General to Investigate His Abduction
Baku / 10.31.18 / Turan: An employee of Channel 13, Ismail Islamoglu, filed a complaint with the Prosecutor General and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, urging them to investigate his abduction and punish the perpetrators.
He writes that on October 26 he was abducted and subjected to physical and psychological pressure by the city police for three days.
"On October 26, when I was returning home, unknown persons blocked my way, forcibly put me in a car, and drove away. On the way, I was subjected to physical pressure, and then taken to the Main Police Department of Baku. They interrogated me on various issues.
I was actually kidnapped and ask to bring to justice those who committed criminal acts against me," the journalist said.
Islamoglu also accused the metropolitan police of lying, which declared that the journalist had disappeared, but was later found by the police.
"Despite the fact that I told about everything that happened live on Facebook, law enforcement agencies deny the lawlessness committed against me," writes Islamoglu.
He asks the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General"s Office to receive him and is ready to testify. -03B06-
