Journalist Fikret Huseynli Released under Guarantee of Ukrainian MP
Baku / 27.10.17 / Turan: The court of Kiev decided to release the journalist Fikret Huseynli under the guarantee of the member of the Parliament of Ukraine Nikola Knyazsky, Turan was told by Huseynli"s colleagues on the spot.
The official decision of the court has not yet been given to the lawyer, the journalist"s colleagues said at 14:00.
Recall that the Azerbaijani journalist Fikret Huseynli, who has Dutch citizenship, was arrested at the request of the Azerbaijani authorities when flying from Kiev two weeks ago. The Kiev court arrested him for 18 days.
Official Baku accused Huseynli of fraud and illegal crossing of the border.
The journalist and his colleagues assert that the real reason for the arrest is his criticism of the Azerbaijani authorities on the Internet channel Turan TV. -03D-
