Journalist Ilkin Mammadli released from police

Baku/12.11.18/Turan: Ilkin Mammadov, a freelance journalist detained on Thursday, was released on Saturday evening. Turan was told by human rights activist Samira Agayeva. According to her, the journalist was detained due to the fact that he had previously been banned from leaving the country.

During the investigation it turned out that at present the law enforcement agencies have no complaints against the journalist.

The freelance journalist Ilkin Mammadov was detained on Thursday after he applied to the ASAN service in the village of Bakikhanov to obtain a passport. However, the journalist was told that he would not be given a passport, since his departure abroad was prohibited, and he himself was wanted by the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the 2015 Nardaran events, Mammadli was placed under administrative arrest and subsequently summoned as a witness at the trial of the leaders and activists of the Muslim Unity Movement. Previously, it was published on the religious site Azadxabar. -06B-
