Karabakh war invalid complained of police arbitrariness

Baku/21.07.17/Turan: Karabakh war invalid Magrub Badalsoy said he was being pressured by police. "I was subjected to police pressure. In the evening on July 20, employees of the 24th branch of the Nizami district police department broke into my house and forcibly took me to the office," Badalsoy told Turan. According to the veteran, he was not even allowed to wear shoes. From the department he was brought to the deputy head of the Nazimi district police department.

The police officer told him that Badalsoy often holds protests "against the state". He, in turn, said that he does not commit any anti-state actions, but only requires compliance with his constitutional rights. The Deputy Chief of Police insulted Badalsoy. After that, he was released and warned.

Badalsoy said that in response to a rough treatment of the police, on July 21 he held a single picket in front of the presidential administration and raised a poster with the slogan "I refuse from citizenship and government." The action lasted about 10 minutes.

Badalsoy said that on July 21 a group of Karabakh war invalids, families of martyrs' journalists were going to hold a protest action in front of the Media Support Foundation in protest against not providing them with apartments in a house built for journalists. However, the action was canceled due to possible tough police actions, Badalsoy said. -06B--
