Lawyer Khalid Bagirov illegally detained in Nakhchivan
The lawyer Khalid Bagirov was arrested this morning at the Nakhchivan airport by officials in plain clothes, when about to fly to Baku.
In an interview with Turan, he said he was flying to Baku to participate in today's trial of the editor of Tolyshi Sado, Hilal Mammadov.
"I checked in and, when entering the plane, I was detained by three persons in civilian clothes. They took my passport and mobile phone, forced me into a car and took me to the Sadarak district court to participate in the trial of the businessmen Muhammad Gurbanov and Nadir Mammadov," said the lawyer.
According to the lawyer, the court in the Sadarak rejected all his requests the day before and he was actually deprived of the opportunity to defend the rights of his clients. Therefore, he refused to participate in a formal trial.
The accused Gurbanov also called the process a "show" and refused a lawyer.
The entrepreneurs Gurbanov and Mammadov are accused of resisting customs officials, even though they themselves were abused after refusing to pay a bribe. -03B06-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
