Lawyer Reports Pressure on Convicted Believers
The Shiite theologian Abgyul Suleymanov has been put in solitary confinement and he will be most probably transferred to the Gobustan closed prison. His lawyer Javad Javadov wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"Yesterday I met Thale Bagirov (a Shiite theologian) in Penitentiary No 12 and Abgyul Suleymanov in Penitentiary No 13. Thale Bagirov is already out of the solitary cell and is kept on a general basis. There should not be a problem with his phone conversations and meetings with relatives. We hope that they will not impose disciplinary measures against him.
Abgyul Suleymanov is contained in a solitary cell. It is expected that in the near future he will be sent to the court with a suggestion to transfer him to the Gobustan closed prison," writes Javadov.
Note that Suleymanov, Bagirov and the leader of the Islamic Party Movsum Samedov have been repeatedly concluded in solitary confinement. Human rights activists and religious activists believe that they are punished for political reasons.
