Leyla Yunus is the holder of the Order of the Legion of Honor
Well-known human rights activist and head of the Institute for Peace and Democracy, Leyla Yunus, has become a Holder of the Legion of Honor of France, according to the press service of the French Embassy in Baku.
Presenting this high award Yunus will be held on May 22 in the evening at the embassy, the award will be presented by the special envoy, Francois Ziemer.
Yunus told that she has been awarded for its contribution to the struggle for human rights. Yunus said that the idea on this award was put forward by the French diplomats in Azerbaijan. As for the decision to award, it is passed by the Legionnaires, those who has already received this award. -02В-
