Low-quality Meat Traders Arrested
Baku / 10/15/18 / Turan: The Food Safety Agency and the Prosecutor General"s Office reported on the arrest of a group that sold meat of dead and sick animals.
During the checks it was found that at 73 Samad Vurgun Street they sold more than two and a half tons of meat of cattle and sheep that did not meet sanitary and hygienic standards. A laboratory test revealed that it was the meat of dead and sick animals, the report said.
The audit also found that poor-quality meat went on sale with the assistance of the veterinarian of Food Control Point No. 5, Khaspolad Mirimov, who colluded with the supplier Alijan Guliyev.
A criminal case has been opened against both of them for allegedly endangering the life and health of people by supplying poor quality meat to the markets.
In addition, a criminal case on similar charges was filed against 4 more people: Ali Hasanov, Shamkhal Nabiyev, Vasif Tagiyev and Jahangir Khalafov. All these men were arrested.
