Major Agshin Abdullayev Buried in Sheki
In the morning on February 28 the Kish village of the Sheki region hosted the funeral of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces Major Agshin Abdullayev, who was killed on the night of February 25 in the direction of Khojavend on the Armenian-Azerbaijani front.
The bodies of the officer and four more of his comrades were evacuated from the place of their death just the day before with the mediation of the Red Cross and the OSCE.
Commenting the incident for Turan, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces Colonel Khatai Bakhishov said, “Judging from the video frames spread by the Armenian side, the bodies of our soldiers were at a considerable distance from each other and they were dressed in the usual khaki, not camouflage. These details disprove the Armenian side's statement that the dead were members of a subversive group.
In support of its version the Armenian side shows video footage of our soldiers undermining the Trail system to clean a strip from mines ‘in order to further advance.’ However, such claims do not stand up to scrutiny, because the main task of any subversive group is to act discreetly and silently,” said the colonel. -02B-
