Make everyday a World Clean-up Day with a reusable Eco Baku Bag
Baku/15.09.18/Turan: Eco Baku, sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Baku, gave away 500 free up-cycled bags to the general public on September 15th. Eco Baku volunteers spread awareness about the over-use of plastic and ways to support more environmentally sustainable options. 150 countries and millions of people around the world joined together in the biggest ever social event cleaning the world.
The seas and countryside are choked with increasing amounts of single-use plastics which harm our environment. Eco Baku connects young Azerbaijanis who are interested in preserving the environment and empowers them to become active within their communities.
It is with great pleasure that Eco Baku, with the sponsorship of the US Embassy, was active in two events on September 15th.
Firstly at 2pm volunteers handed out free Eco Baku bags to members of the public in Fountain Square and Resul Rza street, engaging people in conversations and encouraging them to use fewer plastic bags as they go about their Saturday shopping. The second event provided 150 Eco Baku bags to attendees of the Open Mic event at Coffee Moffie on September 15th.
For more information on Eco Baku Bags you can contact Eco Baku directly through their Facebook page. This is reported by the US Embassy in Baku.--0--
