Mehman Huseynov’s appeal rejected
Today Baku Court of Appeal considered the complaint concerning an administrative fine of 200 manats against blogger Mehman Huseynov. According to the lawyer Elchin Sadigov, no request was not met during the session.
Sadigov asked to recognize unjustified the penalty and verify signatures on the testimony of Huseynov.
He noted that in the 22nd police station Huseynov actually unconscious was forced to sign some papers.
The lawyer noted that the prosecutor's office of Baku refused to investigate the facts of torture of the blogger. Therefore, he will appeal against it by way of judicial review.
On January 9 Huseynov was abducted by unidentified persons and only at noon on the January 10, it became known that he was in the police.
The court sentenced him to a fine of 200 manats for "not subordinating police." After the trial, the blogger said that in police he was tortured. -05B-
