Ministry of Emergency Situations: 134 Dead and 473 Wounded in 2016
In 2016, in the course of 12,110 man-made accidents 68 people were killed and 239 were injured, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan reported.
As a result of 11,853 fires 146 people were injured.
In 2016, there were 68 explosions, as a result of which 12 people were killed and 88 were injured.
A total of 134 people were killed in emergency situations, and 473 were injured. -06D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
