Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on Azerbaijanis Sentenced to Death in Iraq
Baku / 18.04.18 / Turan: The fate of Azerbaijanis in Iraq is constantly in the center of attention of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Baghdad. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev, commenting on the reports on the death penalty announced to three Azerbaijani women on charges of terrorism.
The Embassy is busy with the issues of the return of Azerbaijani citizens from Iraq to their homeland, as well as the case of three Azerbaijani citizens sentenced to death, but there is still no news, he said.
Recall that at the end of last year after cleansing the territory of Iraq from ISIS, Azerbaijani children were found. One of them named Abdulla was taken to Azerbaijan.
At an event of the Non-Alignment Movement in Baku in early April, the representative of Iraq stated that there are Azerbaijani women in Iraq.
