The head of the Oilmen’s Rights Protection Committee Mirvari Gahramanli reports of threats in her address after she criticized authorities for the explosion on the gas pipeline in Sangachal on December 26.
In an interview with Turan, she noted that she had received threats before. However, after the explosion on the gas pipeline the threats are systematic.
“For a while I will not name names, but a campaign is being conducted against me in social networks. They want me not to speak about accidents in the oil sector, and only praise SOCAR.
I am told that all I write about accidents and political prisoners is transferred to the President’s Administration,” said Gahramanli.
She did not rule out that the threats come from government officials.
“I constantly criticize the oil strategy of the authorities and the poor conditions of oilmen. I blame officials for accidents and casualties and criticize the arbitrary arrests of youth activists,” Gahramanli said.
She noted she would not file formal complaints in connection with the threats right now, but if they did not stop, then she would do it.
The head of the SOCAR press service Nizamaddin Guliyev answered Turan’s request on the matter, saying the matter does not and cannot have a relationship to the state oil company. -06D--
