MNS accused militants fighting in Syria of setting fire to a mosque
The Ministry of National Security reported on the disclosure of the fact of the arson of a mosque in the village of Garachukhur, on the outskirts of Baku on the night of November 26. Initially, a lawsuit was filed by the Police Department of Surakhani district of police under Article 134 (threat of death and grievous bodily harm.) However, the investigation identified the elements of terrorism, and the case was transferred to the Investigation Department of the Ministry of National Security. As a result of taken measures in the village of Bilajari were arrested Namik Nasibov and Elnur Alekperov. A gun "Makarov" and 8 rounds were found with Nasibov, and a revolver brand «Smit & Vesson» were found with Alekperov, the Ministry reports.
It was established that in August-September 2014 Namik Nasibov fought in Syria in a group controlled by Kurdish terrorists of PKK.
Upon his return to Azerbaijan after fighting in the Syrian city of Cobán, Nasibov with Alekperov began to create the organization "Yekbun" - an unofficial wing of PKK in Azerbaijan. They both through social networks called for actions in Baku, as well as published materials containing hate to Sunnis and other believers. Nasibov and Alekperov planned bombing attacks in crowded places, according to the information.
On November 25, they bought 10 liters of petrol, and came to Garachukhur. First they spilled gasoline in bottles, and prepared an incendiary mixture. At 02:00 am, they broke the front and rear doors of the mosque, threw incendiary mixture into the mosque what caused the fire in the mosque.
They both remanded arrest and charged under two Articles of the Criminal Code: 214.2.1 (preliminary arrangement by group of persons who have committed acts of terrorism) ,and 228.2.1 (illegal possession of weapons by group of persons by prior agreement), informed the Ministry. -16D04

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
