Baku Opens 20th Exhibition and Conference Telecommunications and Information Technology
On Tuesday, December 2 at the Baku Expo Centre opens Azerbaijan International Exhibition and Conference Telecommunications and Information Technology Bakutel 2014.
In the 20th jubilee exhibition Bakutel 250 companies from 23 countries will take part. In the lobby there will be a national pavilion of Azerbaijan, which will provide full information on the work of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCIT) of Azerbaijan, as well as future plans for the development of the industry. Here, showing projects affecting the ICT industry, the United Nations pavilion will be situated.
For the first time the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will be involved with a stand. The ITU booth will be devoted to the upcoming 150th anniversary of the Union and technological development in the industry.
For 20 years, the exhibition has hosted over 2,000 companies from 50 countries and more than 100 000 visitors.
This year, the United Kingdom, Israel, Iran, Italy, Turkey, Estonia and other countries will display innovative programs, presentations of products and services in the field of ICT. Regular participants will account for 40% of the total number of exhibitors.
The current exhibition will present telecommunications and networks, broadband technology, cable and wireless communications, satellite communications and technologies, broadcasting equipment and technologies, software and automation systems, IT and office technologies, and high-tech.
The exhibition will include a presentation platform in the Azeri language, allowing a few minutes to create people’s own websites, providing new online TV for all types of devices and applications for mobile phones, allowing them to watch TV channels even at low internet, a LED video wall showing art installation, the latest technology GPS tracking system for vehicle and fleet management and solutions of "mobile wallet".
During the exhibition at the Expo Center, as well as in the Business Center there will be a variety of activities. The conference Internet of Things: More Than Us organized by MCIT will address the issues of a new stage of evolution of the Internet. There will also be a conference eGov 3.0: Trends in Development and New Opportunities, Education Informatics - Today's Challenges.
Opening of the first women's club in Azerbaijan Women in IT Femmes Digitales will also be held during the exhibition Bakutel. --08D-

While the global economy faces persistent challenges, trade between China and Azerbaijan has defied downward trends, demonstrating significant growth. According to official statistics from Azerbaijan, bilateral trade in 2023 reached 3.1 billion US dollars. In just the first ten months of 2024, trade volume increased by 17.1% year-on-year, reaching 3.02 billion US dollars, putting the annual trade figure on track to hit a record high.
