Mother of the convicted journalist received in the US Embassy
Zahir Shiraliyev, the mother of the editor portal www.7gun.az xəbər Javid Shiraliyev, sentenced to 5 years in prison, had a meeting at the US Embassy in Baku. Shiraliyev was detained by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on 30 August, 2014 and taken to the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime. He was accused of being in collusion with Asif Akif oglu Orujov in June 2013 he extorted from Khankishiyeva Shafiga Ismail qizi 2,000 manat by threatening to circulate compromising material about her cafe in the village of Qovlar in Tovuz region.
