Presentation of the National Center of Tolerance took place on Wednesday in Baku Business Center as part of the Second World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue. The event was organized by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Secretary-General of ISESCO, Abdulaziz Othman Al-Twaijri pointed out that the establishment of the Center is a timely and positive step that will promote mutual understanding and rapprochement of cultures and religions in Azerbaijan and the region.
The head of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Elshad Iskandarov, in an interview with reporters said that the Center was established by his agency, but will operate independently. "Scientists, experts, and religious leaders will be involved in its activity. Our goal is to strengthen and further develop tolerance and intercultural dialogue, which is known for Azerbaijan.
Various activities will be held, and material support will be provided for social research projects related to religious themes.
Particular attention will be paid to the support of foreign professionals who want to write research papers and theses on these topics in Azerbaijan," he said.-02В-
