Nearing Religious Fasting of Muslims
This year, the beginning of the month of Ramadan falls on June 18, the press service of the Caucasian Muslims Office said.
As you know, during this period, Muslims observe fasting, which, as in previous years, has accounted for a hot summer.
On some days, the duration of the fasting is 17 hours per day. During the fasting the faithful abstain from eating and drinking and smoking during daylight hours.
Exempt from fasting are children, the sick, those in transit and pregnant women.
Special ceremonial days with prayers and vigils fall on 5.7, 9 and 13 July.
