In connection with the anniversary of the death of four Nardaranis during the raid on November 26 last year, police and interior troops in the Nardaran village in the suburbs of Baku have been switched to enhanced mode. Turan was told by the human rights activist Oktay Gyulaliyev.
According to him, relatives of the victims were warned about the inadmissibility of Islamic mourning ceremonies and mass visiting of the graves. Prior to that, unknown people destroyed the tombs of the dead.
Fearing public events, the police carried out preventive arrests and detained two local residents whose relatives suffered or were arrested under the ‘Nardaran case.’
One of the detainees named Fail Shahbazov was taken to Sabunchu police and then to the Office for Combating Organized Crime, and the court arrested him for 30 days.
Earlier Shahbazov published critical articles on Facebook and a few days ago issued a photo of the destroyed graves.
In respect of the second detainee named Saleh a criminal case was launched under Article 228.1 (illegal possession of firearms), and he has also been arrested.
Police also search a number of others.
Local residents, who were witnesses at the trial on the ‘Nardaran case,’ are under pressure and before speaking in the court they are called to the police and demanded to give false evidence against the accused. -06D-
