Nijat Guliyev is not permitted to meet with sick father
Former imprisoned minister Nijat Guliyev is not allowed to meet with his 84-year-old father, Turan was told by the lawyer Afghan Mammadov. According to him, Amir Guliyev ‘s health is not well, and he is being treated in a hospital.
Nijat Guliyev was sentenced to three years in prison on charges of illegal possession of firearms. Half term he had already served, however Prison Service does not create conditions for his meeting with his father, although the law allows it.
The lawyer also said that on 5 February he appealed to the leadership of the Prison Service with a request to allow such a meeting, but so far received no response.
Nijat Guliyev was arrested in August of 2013. The real reason for his arrest is that he advised the opposition candidate, Rustam Ibrahimbayov before the presidential election of 2013. -05B04-
