One More Farmer Complains to the Ministry for Extraordinary Situations (MES)

A farmer from the village of Charigly in the Imishli region , Amir Hasanov, held a press conference on Wednesday at the Media Centre in connection with the violation of his rights by local authorities.

He said after the floods in spring 2010, 2.5 hectares of his land was flooded, leaving 1.7 hectares unusable. In this regard, he appealed several times to every possible agency, demanding compensation payment for the loss of his land and harvests amounting to 300 tons of beets. However, the MES, which was to reimburse the amount of damage, did not pay compensation.

The MES refused to pay compensation even after the decision of the Administrative Economic Court N1, which rendered a decision in January 2012. A specific damage amount was not specified in the decision.

According to Amir Hasanov, the damage is about 7000 AZN. “The MES must pay this money.  Five times, I tried to meet with deputy ministers, but it was all in vain. The last time I was received by General Zamanov, just pushed me out of his room," said Amir Hasanov.

The farmer appealed to the President for help in obtaining a compensation payment. -04С-
