Operation Hush-Hush 2016 Destroys Tons of Cannabis
The Ministry of Internal Affairs held a Hush Hush-2016 operation (hush-hush is an opium poppy in Azeri – ed.) in the north-western region of Azerbaijan on July 21-22. The aim was to destroy plants containing narcotic.
In the course of this large-scale operation involving the Internal Troops, helicopters and special equipment, 22 facts of artificial cultivation of plants containing narcotic were found in the forests. The law enforcers collected and destroyed nearly 1.5 tons of cannabis. The facts are investigated.
Wild hemp was also found on the territory of 17 hectares, with a total weight of 18.5 tons. It was also destroyed. This is stated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service. -02D-

According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
