Parents of Dead Scouts Complain about Lack of Attention

On October 16 in the second Alley of Honor there was a ceremony of commemoration of the members of the reconnaissance group of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, who died in 1997 during a military operation in the occupied territories.

Of the eight members of the group only one survived - the second group invalid Aghil Ahmedov, who was exchanged after nearly two years of captivity.

The reconnaissance was sent to the heartland of the Armenians and for a few days performed combat missions. However, the soldiers were revealed by the enemy and besieged. During the hard fighting the group destroyed a significant number of soldiers of the enemy and, not to be taken prisoners, the men blew themselves up with a grenade.

Members of the group were posthumously awarded the medal For Courage. After 18 years since their death, their parents expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of attention to them from the military leadership and the executives. They complained of the lack of concern for the families of martyrs, who died heroically in battle.

The victims’ parents also expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the only survived member of the reconnaissance group, Aghil Ahmedov has not received adequate medical treatment abroad, and he continues to walk with shrapnel in the body.   -02B-
