Park Opened in Mass Demolitions Area
Today, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev the park in the area between the Heydar Aliyev Palace and the Dramatic Theater was opened. The park was created on the site of mass demolition of houses in the streets of Fizuli, Sh. Badalbeyli and Mirzaga Aliyev.
At this point, authorities celebrate the Flower Festival today.
According to Baku Mayor Abutalibov, the area of ??the park is 7 hectares. At the same time, the territory is covered with granite slabs, and some of it is landscaped. The park was created on the underground parking for 4,000 cars.
In addition, the streets of Fizuli and Sh. Badalbeyli were expanded.
The name of the park is not reported. Officially, it is presented as a "park over the underground car park", although earlier the authorities declared the creation of "Winter Boulevard."
Demolition of houses in the area was accompanied by a conflict with local residents, unhappy with meager compensation of 1,500 manats per 1 sq. meters. This standard amount was offered to all, regardless of the state of the apartments, floors, and buildings.
Authorities also did not report how much money was spent on the resettlement of the people, and the construction of the parking lot and the park. -16D-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
