During the operation against poachers in the region of Lankaran a police officer Malik Jahangirov was killed. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, on 29 September at 23:00 during the police operation to catch poachers a Sergeant Malik Jahangirov was killed. The region Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit under the Article 120.1 (deliberate killing of a human.)
The investigation established that in the course of the operation police officers employees were trying to detain the poachers by crossing the water; the poachers were residents Rafiq Asgarov and Bahruz Huseynov from the village of Urge of Lankaran region.
Junior sergeant Jahangirov tried to stop the boat of the poachers. At this point Asgerov threw a network connected to the electric current to the place where Jahangirov was, and switched current.
As a result, a police officer was killed, and poachers - disappeared. However, as a result of search operations Asgerov and Huseynov were detained. Currently necessary investigations are ongoing, the press service of the General Prosecutor Office.—06D-
