Police General Ordered Arrest of Vehicle of Ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs? (Video)
The night before, the traffic police took the car from the former head of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Tofig Zulfugarov. On this he wrote on his Facebook page.
The incident occurred in the evening on the Mardakan road.
“A car driving behind me on Heydar Aliyev Avenue, despite the heavy traffic on all lanes, blinked hard distant light, blinding me and creating a nervous-hysterical situation on the road. Once an opportunity appeared, I let it go forward, and then the car slowed down and completely ceased to hurry. Then, inexplicably, it began to slow down while the permitted speed was 120 km / h. Understanding that it was some inadequate and aggressive driver, I signaled to him with light, overtook him and went to the right lane. Then he passed me again and moved forward,” Zulfugarov wrote.
After that, he was caught up by a patrol car, and the inspector began to claim that he violated the rules. As it turned out, this was some high-ranking police officer.
“The patrol with great respect checked my documents, conducted a test for alcohol, and then I was told that a General of the City Police Department was in that car. The patrol said they had an order to deliver my car to the parking lot, and on my question "Why?" they said they could not articulate a claim, so I was not even given a protocol. Talking very politely, I obeyed their orders, and then they brought me home,” Zulfugarov noted further.
As proof of his words he brought a video. “I have 2 questions. Who is this “Signore”, whom I accidentally offended (the car number is clearly visible - 10 AA 102)) and what errors could more experienced drivers see in my driving? That's the story happened to me tonight and thanks to this unknown General that he did not order to shoot me in the presence of my family because I did not have a proper respect for his “Holiness”. In truth, my rank of Ambassador is the highest diplomatic rank and is equivalent to the rank of General. I received this grade on January 15, 1998 by the order of President Heydar Aliyev and I have always been and will always be proud of it,” Zulfugarov wrote.
On request of Turan IA what rules Zulfugarov violated, the person responsible for public relations in Baku Traffic Police, Vaghif Asadov said that if there was a detention, it means that there was a violation. “If a citizen does not agree and believes that his rights have been violated, he can make a complaint and it will be carefully considered,” he added. -06D--
