Police Receive the Right to Use Electric Shockers

Policemen are now allowed to use electric shockers when needed. This decision was made by Milli Mejlis, where changes were made to the law "On Police" today.

The head of the parliamentary committee Ali Huseynli said that the police will be able to use electric shockers after the amendment to article 26 of the law "On Police".

"This article focuses on special equipment that police use. It is proposed to add a paragraph 3-1 for the inclusion in the number of non-lethal weapons. Electric shockers will be used against perpetrators," said Huseynli.

It is subject to the prevention of assault or other violence at restoring order during a riot and mass disorder, neutralizing a group of persons who had seized a residential building with armed resistance on the part of the detainee, to prevent the escape of detainees, said Huseinli.

He also noted that electric shockers will be in the arsenal of not all police officers, but only at certain officials, the list of which will be approved by order of the Minister of Interior. After a discussion changes in the law "On Police" were adopted.

Note that so far the favorite means of the police are batons. How popular and effective electric shockers will be, will be proved later. However, it should be noted that this is not a harmless agent.

* Electric shockers can be contact and remote. A striking electric discharge can be transmitted to the target over the wire, and in the form of "electric bullets" that is a miniature electric shocker shot at a target from firearms or air guns.

When injected into the human, the electric charge causes a painful shock and convulsions. The person loses the ability to move and fight. -02D-
