Political émigré blogger threatens
Baku/28.08.19/Turan: An investigative blogger living in Europe, Javanshir Hasanli, is wanted by unknown people, he told Turan on August 28.
According to Hasanli, unknown persons share his photos on social networks and try to establish his place of residence in Germany.
"Everyone is asked if they know me, my place of residence," Hasanli said.
He believes that this is due to his recent investigations into the withdrawal of large funds from the country. For example, I wrote about the company Raks, associated with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Eldar Hasanov, about businessman Nasir Mustafazade, who sold 554 apartments in Germany," Hasanli said.
He noted that last year he already received threat messages and contacted the police.
"Then the police did not attach much importance to this, but now the situation is more serious. Given this, I am forced to leave Europe," Hasanli said.
At the same time, he asked human rights defenders to keep his question in the spotlight. -21C06-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
