The official newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the place of Azerbaijan and its President in the system of current international relations in an article titled: NATO Mission of Ilham Aliyev.
The author regards the confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and Azerbaijan's cooperation with NATO since 1992. Azadlig writes about reducing credit deposits in domestic banks. Over the past 18 months they have reached the lowest level. Thus, in June 2016 the credit deposits were 17 billion 648 million AZN.
Compared with May, this decreased by 3.1% (561 million AZN), while in January the credit deposits were 21 billion AZN.
As for dollar-denominated loans, there is a rise here due to the foreign currency exchange rate. The author also addresses the issue of problem loans, constituting 1 billion 514 million AZN by June 1. The share of problem loans in total loan portfolio also increased, reaching 8.3%.
Novoye Vremya: The more the Azerbaijani economy gets bogged down in the crisis, the more talks about the development of tourism. The entire achievement of the Azerbaijani tourism in the past year was the fact that 44 thousand Iranians visited Baku on the Novruz holiday, spending in the aggregate not more than 30-35 million US dollars, the newspaper said.
The author criticizes the tourism infrastructure and personnel, as well as the quality of service. If tourism to Istanbul and Dubai is convenient, why should they need Azerbaijan?
