The development of gas production, the National Council meeting of 11 September, the fight against corruption, the level of teaching in higher education, and the situation in the car market are the leading topics of today's press.

The official Azerbaijan newspaper writes that the country is turning into a major gas supplier. Reforms of President Ilham Aliyev eliminate economic dependence on oil and give fruit. In this regard, the author tells us about the project Shahdeniz-2. He also lists successful economic projects, emphasizes their importance not only in the region, but also in the world, and points to the stability of the situation in Azerbaijan as opposed to the Middle East.

The site of the newspaper Azadlig.info is monitoring the situation with the upcoming rally of the National Council on 11 September. The authorities until the last moment did not give an answer to the request to authorize the rally.

Echo has published an article about the subjects taught in the universities. Among them, there are subjects useless to students. The author considers it necessary to let the students choose the subjects they need, which has long been practiced in many universities abroad.

Novoye Vremya has published an article about the activities of ASAN service, which reduces the possibility of corruption in other organizations. However, it is premature to talk about eradicating corruption in state institutions. Apparently, with this in mind, a new entity will be established to combat corruption in public organizations. How efficient this entity will be the near future will show.

In the meantime, the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General has not yet excelled by any loud exposing corruption. Basically, the struggle is not against corruption, but against bribery at the level of teachers, health workers and employees of housing and utility departments and municipalities.

The anti-corruption bodies are powerless against the real corruption. Without the construction of an independent judicial system, all attempts to put an end to corruption seem futile.

Bizim Yol writes that the sale of cars in Baku has virtually ceased. The author analyzes the situation in the automotive market. He argues that all have taken a wait.

 Only at the end of August 4-5 cars were sold through barter. The author believes that now it is the time to buy a car, because there are big discounts, up to 5 thousand dollars.  –0----
