Prosecutor calls on to imprison human rights activist of Ganja for seven years
Today Nizami Ganja Court held the trial in the case of the head of the NGO "Center for Civic Education Intellectual" Hasan Huseynli. At the trial, the prosecutor called on to convict Huseynli to seven years in prison, finding him guilty under the Article 221.3 (hooliganism using a weapon or object as a weapon.) The trial will continue on July 11.
The investigation alleges that Huseynli stabbed Ganja residents, Arzu Gahramanova. However, the prosecution in no way confirmed it. In fact, unknown came up to Huseynli the street and began insulting, provoking a fight. Huseynli realized that it was a provocation, did not answer, and immediately called and told reporters about the incident.
Later it became known that the authorities were concerned by the significant authority and influence of Huseynli on local youth, that ignores formal events, preferring to deal with human rights activist.
