Prosecutor General"s Office Threatens Ogtay Gulaliyev with Criminal Prosecution
Baku / 13.05.19 / Turan: "During the investigation conducted by the Prosecutor General"s Office, it was established that Ogtay Gulaliyev, who called himself a "human rights activist," on his page on the social network Facebook deliberately spread out the untrue information undermining political stability, as well as casting a shadow on law enforcement measures against crime." This is stated in the message of the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office on the evening of May 13.
In connection with the above, further stated in the message, Gulaliyev was invited to the Prosecutor General"s Office and in accordance with the requirements of the Law "On the Prosecutor"s Office" he was officially warned that if he would continue to "spread the information intentionally not based on real facts and in order to mislead public opinion", then more serious measures will be taken in relation to him, provided for by law, including criminal prosecution.
It should be noted that recently Gulaliyev disseminated the statements and appeals of family members of those arrested in connection with the "Terter case" and the Ganja events about torture of the accused and falsification of their criminal cases.
