Prosecutor of the region of Ismayilli dismissed for non-procedural relations, his assistant arrested
Baku / 26.07.18 / Turan: Senior Assistant to Prosecutor of Ismayilli region, Faig Guliyev, was arrested for bribery large amount . Prosecutor Ulvi Abbasov himself was dismissed from his post. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, an investigation into the complaint against Guliyev's illegal actions was carried out in the General Directorate for Combating Corruption.
It was established that on July 14, 2018, in the building of the Ismailly regional prosecutor's office, Guliyev received a large-scale bribe from Azad Aliyev, the chairman of the board of the İsmayıllı Tikinti 27 OJSC, the owner of a quarry for the production of sand and gravel. The bribe was given in exchange for not prosecuting for illegal actions.
A lawsuit has been filed under the Article 311.3.3 (taking a large amount bribe.) During the search Guliyev's office found money transferred as a bribe.
Guliyev was charged under the Articles 311.3.2 (taking bribes more than once) and 311.3.3 (taking a large scale bribe.) By a court decision, he was arrested and dismissed from the prosecutor's office.
During the service check it was established that the prosecutor of the Ismayilli region, Ulvi Abbasov, together with Guliyev had "non-procedural relations with citizens, abused his official authority," the report said. -06D-
